Using the Live Event Display on Event Night
LevCharity includes a Live Event Display — a fullscreen view designed to be shown on a projector or large screen during your event. It shows real-time donation activity and encourages in-room giving.
What the Live Display Shows
- Live Donation Ticker — New donations appear in real time as they come in, typically showing the donor name and amount.
- Real-Time Goal Bar — A visual progress bar toward your event's fundraising goal, updating live.
- QR Code — A scannable code that opens your donation form on guests' phones, enabling instant in-room giving without any friction.
Setting Up the Live Display
- Open your event in the LevCharity dashboard.
- Navigate to the Live Display tab.
- Customize the display: choose which elements to show (ticker, goal bar, QR code), set your branding colors, and preview the layout.
- Click Open Live Display — this opens a fullscreen browser window optimized for large screens.
- On the night of the event, open this URL on the device connected to your projector or TV. The display updates automatically with no manual refreshing needed.
Tips for In-Room Giving
- Test before the event. Make a small test donation a few minutes before doors open to confirm the ticker is updating.
- Announce the QR code from the stage — remind guests to scan it when the matching campaign is active for maximum impact.
- Keep the display browser tab active — minimizing or switching away from the tab can pause real-time updates on some browsers. Use a dedicated device for the display if possible.
- If you're using a matching campaign, the live display will reflect the matched total, reinforcing urgency for guests in the room.
