LevCharity has roughly 100 email triggers spanning every module — donations, campaigns, events, eCommerce, subscriptions, sponsorships, and eCards — and a two-layer system to control them.

The Two Layers

Layer 1: Global Defaults

Found in Email Manager in the left sidebar. These are the default emails that fire for all forms, campaigns, and events unless overridden. When you first activate a module, LevCharity auto-creates sensible default emails for that module — you don't have to build from scratch.

Global settings apply to all forms/campaigns/events unless a specific form overrides them.

Layer 2: Per-Form / Per-Campaign / Per-Event Overrides

Found within each individual form, campaign, or event editor under the Emails tab. When you enable an override for a specific item, the global default no longer applies to that item — the per-form setting takes over completely for that trigger.

This is useful when you want one campaign's thank-you email to be different from another's, without changing the global default.

Email Recipients

Emails are organized by recipient type:

  • Donor — sent to the person who donated.
  • Admin — sent to your team when a transaction occurs.
  • Fundraiser — sent to P2P/team fundraisers.
  • Team Captain — sent to team captains specifically.

Turning Emails On and Off

Any email can be turned off individually — globally or per form — without deleting it. This is useful for temporarily pausing admin notifications during a high-volume campaign.

The 5-Step Email Creation Wizard

To create or edit an email:

  1. Select trigger — choose which event fires this email (e.g., "Donation Completed").
  2. Select recipient — Donor, Admin, Fundraiser, or Team Captain.
  3. Design the email — subject line, body (with merge tags for donor name, amount, campaign, etc.), and optional receipt attachment.
  4. Configure delivery rules — set a send delay, filter by country, filter by currency, or target a specific form only.
  5. Review and save.

Viewing Email Logs

Every email sent through LevCharity is logged. To view logs, go to Email Manager → Email Log and filter by date, recipient, trigger, or delivery status. This is your first stop when a donor says they didn't receive a confirmation.
