Using Send Delays, Country Rules, and Currency Rules

Fine-tune email delivery in LevCharity with send delays, country-based filters, and currency-specific triggers.

Using Send Delays, Country Rules, and Currency Rules

LevCharity's email delivery rules give you fine-grained control over when and to whom automated emails are sent. These settings live in Step 4 of the Email Creation Wizard and can be set globally or per-form.

Send Delay

A send delay holds the email for a specified time before delivering it. Common uses:

  • Thank-you emails — Delaying by 30–60 minutes makes the message feel more personal and less automated.
  • Fundraiser tips — Send a "here's how to maximize your fundraising" email 24 hours after someone registers, once they've had time to set up their page.
  • Event reminders — Schedule a reminder to arrive 48 hours before the event start time.

To set a delay: in the email wizard Step 4, enable Send Delay and enter the hours or days.

Country Rules

Country rules send (or suppress) a specific email only for donors from a specific country. This is useful when:

  • Your receipt format differs between countries (e.g., Canadian CRA receipts vs. U.S. 501(c)(3) acknowledgment letters).
  • You want to send a localized follow-up email in the donor's language.
  • You want to suppress admin notifications for international donations but keep them for domestic ones.

To add a country rule: in Step 4, click Add Country Rule, select the country, and choose whether the rule includes or excludes that country.

Currency Rules

Currency rules filter emails based on the currency of the transaction. Useful for:

  • Multi-currency campaigns where different currencies represent different donor populations.
  • Sending USD-specific receipt language separate from CAD receipts.
  • Triggering a special follow-up only for large NIS donations from Israeli donors.

To add a currency rule: in Step 4, click Add Currency Rule, select the currency, and choose include or exclude.

Combining Rules

Rules stack — you can have a send delay and a country rule and a currency rule on the same email. LevCharity applies all conditions (AND logic): the email only fires if all conditions are met.

For complex scenarios (e.g., different thank-you emails for USD donors vs. CAD donors), create two separate email entries for the same trigger, each with the appropriate currency rule. That way each donor gets the right email.
