Setting Up Recurring Donations and Managing Subscriptions

Monthly giving is one of the most valuable revenue streams for nonprofits. LevCharity makes it straightforward to enable recurring donations on any form and to manage those subscriptions over time.

Enabling Recurring Donations on a Form

1. Open your donation form in the editor.
2. Under Giving Frequency, select Monthly or Both (one-time and monthly).
3. If you select Both, choose the default that gets pre-selected for the donor — setting Monthly as the default tends to increase recurring conversion rates.
4. Save and publish the form.

Donors who choose monthly giving will be charged automatically on the same date each month.

Viewing and Managing Subscriptions

All active recurring subscriptions appear in the Donations module under the Subscriptions tab.

From there you can:

• View the full history of payments on a subscription.
• Update the amount on behalf of a donor (if they call in to request a change).
• Cancel a subscription if a donor requests it.
• Retry a failed charge manually — LevCharity also has automatic card retry logic that attempts to re-process a failed charge before canceling.

Recurring Upgrades

LevCharity supports recurring upgrade prompts — after a one-time donation is completed, the donor can be shown a prompt asking if they'd like to make it a monthly gift. This is configurable per form under Checkout Settings → Recurring Upgrade.

CRM Sync

Every recurring donor is automatically captured and stored in your CRM with their full subscription history, lifetime giving value, and last gift date — no manual entry needed.
